Simple Collard Greens
Cooking collards couldn’t be easier. This no-fuss collard recipe can be adapted to your taste by adding hot sauce, soy sauce, or any other flavor that you like. Enjoy!
~ 1-bunch of collards
~ a small amount of water
~ salt to taste
~ Optional: red pepper flakes
Remove the stems from the collards (just cut the steps out with a sharp knife).
Roll de-stemmed collard leaves into a “cigar” and chop.
Rinse collards in a colander to remove any sand or dirt
Add the semi-wet collards to a large frying pan or a pot.
Sprinkle with salt and let the collards cook, siring occasionally. Putting the lid on the pot will help to speed up cooking times. You will know the collards are done when they are limp and bright green.
Remove from heat, season to taste and serve. |
