Basic Quinoa
Quinoa is great on its own, but is even better with a little flavor. The sweet flavor of onions livens up the quinoa and makes this a great dish to have around. It goes with everything from vegetable stir-fry to a side dish with meat or fish. Enjoy!
~ Dash of olive oil
~ 1 onion, copped
~ 1 cup Quinoa
~ 2 cups water or chicken stock
~ salt to taste
Add oil to a pot and let warm (however, never let oils smoke, this is very bad!).
Add onions and sautee for 5-8 minutes or until the onions are clear.
Add the water or stock and let come to a boil.
Add the quinoa, reduce heat, cover and let cook for 15 minutes or until all of the water is absorbed.
Season with salt and enjoy! |
